Can You See the Campers for the Trees?

Bishop Sally Dyck recently offered some guidance to Minnesota Conference camp leaders. She reminded them that parents send children to camp for spiritual formation; that church camp, in its 24/7 format, can provide about the same amount of influence as a year's worth of Sunday school; that most adults in church today became Christians by the time they completed their teen years; and probably most of them made their first commitment to Christ while at camp.

She urged the camp leaders to connect campers to the Creator and to creation, to share God's unconditional love, to be good models of faith and spiritual disciplines, and to have fun.  Has camping made a difference in your spiritual journey or that of your child's? What is the most important aspect of camping? How can the Minnesota Conference enhance its camping program?
